Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 98: Clash of Shadows – Megumi and Yuji Face Off Against Noya
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 98 brings us straight into the heart of chaos as the long-awaited confrontation begins. Noya, Kenjaku’s cursed hybrid weapon, enters Megumi and Yuji’s battlefield—and wastes no time making his intentions clear.
The opening panels are silent. The wind stirs. Birds fly off. Then, with one footstep, Noya arrives—his eyes dead calm, his cursed energy pressure so overwhelming that even nearby shikigami vanish without a fight.
Yuji stands ready, but it’s Megumi who steps forward. This time, he’s not possessed. Not broken. Not hiding. And he says it straight:
“You’re here for me. So come get me.”
The battle begins instantly.
Noya’s fighting style is unlike anything they’ve encountered. His “Pulse Compression” cursed technique manipulates kinetic force within the body, allowing him to strike faster than sound or explode cursed energy on impact. It’s like Toji’s speed, Mahito’s precision, and Sukuna’s cruelty all in one terrifying blend.
But Megumi isn’t the same sorcerer either. With his Domain Expansion incomplete but fueled by raw resolve, he combines Chimera Shadow Garden with his newer cursed control to keep Noya guessing. Yuji supports from the outside, acting as the wall between Megumi and total collapse.
What’s striking is how different this Megumi is—more calculating, more brutal. At one point, he even says:
“If I have to become the curse to kill the curse… I will.”
The chapter ends with a high-speed exchange: Noya pierces through Megumi’s shadow barrier—but is caught off-guard by a new summon, a mutated Divine Dog unlike anything we’ve seen.
Chapter 98 is cinematic, intense, and beautifully choreographed. Gege Akutami finally lets loose the storm he’s been building, giving us a showdown that feels like a reckoning for both Megumi’s past and the cursed future approaching.
