Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 65: Guilt and New Alliances

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 65 is a quiet yet powerful chapter that delivers emotional impact and sets the stage for future confrontations. After the brutal finale of the Shibuya Incident arc, we finally see Yuji Itadori’s psyche unravel, and the result is heartbreaking.

Yuji, bloodied and mentally exhausted, walks among the wreckage — not just of buildings, but of lives. He remembers Nobara’s collapse, Nanami’s death, and the countless civilians killed during Mahito’s rampage. The weight is unbearable. For Yuji, it’s not victory — it’s failure. And now, the guilt eats away at him.

His monologue is raw. He doesn’t see himself as a hero. He calls himself a cog — someone who does what must be done, not because he wants to, but because he has to. This moment cements a major shift in Yuji’s character. He’s no longer the bright-eyed boy from Season 1. He’s scarred, jaded, and more resolved than ever.

Meanwhile, the focus shifts briefly to Choso, the last remaining Death Painting Womb brother. After learning that Yuji shares blood with him, Choso has a full emotional and mental shift. Instead of killing Yuji, he now views him as family. His decision? Protect Yuji at all costs.

And that’s not all. Yuki Tsukumo continues her face-off with Kenjaku, giving us rare insight into two of the most mysterious forces in the Jujutsu world. Their ideological clash is subtle but fierce. Yuki questions the foundation of cursed energy use; Kenjaku justifies chaos in the name of evolution.

The art in Chapter 65 is subdued but full of weight. Gege Akutami uses silence and stark expressions to capture trauma, grief, and transformation.

Chapter 65 is the calm between storms. It doesn’t roar — it mourns. But beneath the sorrow, new alliances form… and the next wave is already building.
