Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 106: The Curse Before Time – Gojo Unleashes the Truth About Kogane-no-Ō

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 106 steps away from high-octane battle and plunges us into myth, memory, and madness, as Satoru Gojo reveals the horrifying origins of Kogane-no-Ō—the ancient curse entity whose seal was accidentally broken in Megumi’s domain.

The chapter opens with a gathering of remaining Grade 1 and special-grade sorcerers at a secured Tokyo veil point. Gojo stands at the center, battered but composed. His words are measure and chill.

“This isn’t a new threat. It’s the first one.”

He explains that before even Sukuna’s era, there existed a primordial war between the first cursed users and non-sorcerers. The strongest among them was Kogane-no-Ō, an emperor-turned-curse who fused his soul with thousands of victims. His domain wasn’t a battlefield—it was an empire, built on fear, sacrifice, and domination of cursed law.

Gojo continues:
“He was sealed not by sorcerers… but by a pact made between clans and curses. That’s how dangerous he was. Both sides feared him.”

We’re treat to ancient illustrated flashbacks: Kogane towering above temples, warping landscapes with curse monarchs bowing at his feet. A curse not born from sorrow—but from entitlement, greed, and blind worship.

Yuji, stunned, asks, “How do we kill something like that?”

Gojo replies:
“We don’t. We prepare for containment… and hope he doesn’t evolve beyond what’s written in history.”

Meanwhile, deep within the awakening grounds, Kogane-no-Ō speaks a single word for the first time in centuries:
“Heir.”

The chapter closes on Megumi jolting awake, shadow energy surging violently from his body, and his eyes reflecting Kogane’s third eye symbol.

Chapter 106 is an incredible blend of lore expansion, emotional pacing, and worldbuilding, marking the beginning of what could be Jujutsu Kaisen’s most mythic arc yet.
